Leggere il nuovo numero di Burda mentre sorseggio cappuccino è uno dei momenti migliori del mese. Nessuno per nessuna ragione può disturbare la scena o commentare i miei "ohh" di delizia.
Febbraio è stato decisamente un mese "ohh", in particolare (ma non solo) quando ho trovato questo abito in bouclè metallizzato:

La scelta di questo magnifico giardino moderno come ambientazione del servizio ha molto a che fare con ciò che ha catturato il mio sguardo, perché il giardinaggio è una delle mie grandi passioni. Ma anche la tonalità dell'abito e la sua linea semplice, la spilla come tocco di personalità e, certo, le scarpe. Penso che le uniche due cose che non mi piacciono siano la punta quadrata delle scarpe e la lunghezza dei capelli, un po' esagerata secondo me, ma quando sei così bella nessuno ci fa caso, immagino.
The choice of this beautiful modern garden as location for the photoshoot has a lot to do with what caught my eye, because gardening is one of my biggest passions. But also the hue of the dress and its simple silhouette, the brooch as touch of personality and, yes, the shoes. I think the only two things I don't like in this photo are the square point of the shoes and the lenght of the hair, which is a bit too much if you ask me, but when you are this beautiful nobody cares, I imagine.
Qui sopra c'è il tecnico del vestito. La parte arricciata delle maniche e la striscia inferiore dell'abito andrebbero tagliate in sbieco: è davvero un dettaglio grazioso se state usando tessuti con una trama evidente. Ma se anche voi, come me, avete deciso di lavorare un tessuto che fondamentalmente ha lo stesso comportamento e aspetto sia in drittofilo che in sbieco, allora conviene tagliare il volant delle maniche in drittofilo e realizzare in un pezzo unico il davanti e il dietro dell'abito, come nel disegno tecnico qua sotto NO NO NO ho cambiato idea: taglierò in drittofilo ma lascerò la cucitura in basso, come nel progetto originale di Burda, per una migliore resa estetica.
Above there's the technical drawing of the dress. The ruched part of the sleeves and the lower stripe are supposed to be cut on the bias. This is a really cute detail if you're using fabrics with visible weave. But if you, like me, have decided to use a fabric that has basically the same characteristics and look both on the bias and the grain (it ahppens for example with felt, whic I do not recommend for this dress, or some boiled wools), then it's better to cut the sleeves' volants on grain and the front and the back of the dress in one piece, like in the techincal drawing here NO NO NO I've changed my mind: I'll cut on grain but I'll leave the lower sew, as in the original Burda model, for a better appearance.
